SNOW is awesome!!!

In Fuquay, we awoke to a beautiful white morning. I wasn't quite sure what the deal was as I've never really seen SNOW before. A small layer of flurries fell back in November, but it was nothing like this. I ran and froliced almost all day. Had to sneak in a few naps to reenergize myslef. Here's some pictures of my day of fun:

King of the Road!!!!

So, it's been a while since I last posted and boy has a lot went on. I went on my first big roadtrip and was quite a good traveler. Read more about my trip below. I've also completed my second obedience class (pics to be added later) alongside my brother River. I learned alot and impressed Mom and Grandma with how much I learned, including to "wait" for food. Here's some new pics and some new stories too:

And now for the roadtrip:
Mom had a family reunion to go to all the way in Ohio, so Grandma and I piled in for the trip too. We hit the road early on Friday morning and after about an hour I was really confused because we hadn't stopped at Grandma Beth's house or at obedience class. We were stopped at a rest area near Pilot Mountain. This was stop number one for the trip and after about 20 minutes I did my business and we were back on the road. Then Mom and Grandma made stop number two as we were just starting to head up into the mountains. I finally gave up on trying to figure out where we were going and went to sleep about halfway across West Virginia. We finally got to Ohio and made it to Grandpa's house, our final destination for the weekend. Saturday we went to the family reunion and I was a hit. Mom made me show off most of my tricks from obedience class and I made some really great new friends. Then Sunday we piled back in the truck and I realized pretty quickly that we were in for the long haul again. Mom snapped these pics on the way back (while driving too):

Mom and Grandma were very happy with how well I traveled, and hope to plan more roadtrips in the future.

Mom has a warped sense of humor!!!

So, Mom wanted me to post this video:

I've always played this way with this particular ball, but this time I think I went a bit too "all out". Mom has always laughed at my "fall over" antic and she was so proud that she finally captured it with the video camera.

I PASSED (sorry for keeping you hanging in suspense)

I passed "puppy kindergarten" with flying colors. Well, it was a "high five" that actually got me my diploma (I had to learn a trick from Mom and Grandma that hadn't been taught in class). My "high five" is a hit with everyone, and Mom makes me show it off all the time. Here are some pics from graduation night:

It's been a hot summer here in North Carolina, so here's how I spend those "dog" days of summer.

So, life is good. I start my next class on July 22nd, so we'll see what other tricks I can learn (so far I have: sit, stay, down, "high five", shake, and Mom is still working on heel (loose leash) and off and she's trying to teach me "burnout" too). I've lost the biggest majority of my puppy teeth (I think Mom has found about nine of them for her scrapbook and she refuses to look for the rest of them). I weighed about 46 pounds by Mom's home method late last week, so I'm getting big.

Mom has more videos to post, but she has to find the cable for the camcorder first (or order a new one).

Well, I think that's all I have for now. I hope I can start updating more regularly, but with my busy schedule (and Mom's too) it can get "ruff" at times to keep up with everything.

My Latest Escapades

I know what you're thinking, "That's a mighty big word for a puppy", but hey we Goldens are very smart. Grandma Beth really had me and my siblings prepared for the big world out there. Well on to those 'escapades' .....

It's been really hot here, but not hot enough to completely keep me from the great outdoors. Here I am in my raceday chair, and taking my famous flying leap out of it :)

I like playing in my pool even if there isn't any water in it...

I'm growing more and more everyday. I'm getting taller and I was 36.5 pounds at the vet last Friday. Here's just some random pictures showing how much I'm growing (and how much cuter I just keep getting).

I'm even losing some of my puppy teeth and a couple of my permanent teeth have already came in. Mom's mad because she hasn't found any of the teeth I've lost for her scrapbook yet :)

And Mom had to go away for work last week, so Terri and Amanda helped take care of me on the two days Grandma had to work (they did a great job I must say). I was mostly good for Grandma, except for trying to eat a frog Tuesday night (sorry Laurel). And I missed Mom, but she brought me back a Goofy and a Mickey Mouse.

But most importantly she came home to me!!!!

I kept her awake almost the whole first night (I don't think she minded, I think she missed me almost as much as I missed her).

Now, my most recent adventure was tonight at "puppy kindergarten". Grandma Beth let us go swimming in her creek before class. I had so much fun (and I was the first one in). So I've let Mom and Grandma know that we need to find some more places for me to swim.

Now next week is graduation so be sure to back to see if I pass :)

All that swimming wore me out, I'm off to bed.

I'm back!!!

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated, life just got crazy!!!

Let's see, since my last post I've been reunited with most of my siblings. 9 of the 11 of us have joined back up with Beth for "Puppy Kindergarten". I'm not the biggest, I think Archer has me beat there. I've been learning 'heel' and 'sit', mom has even been working on 'down' and didn't think she was getting through to me. But, I proved her wrong this evening and surprised her I think (made her look like a liar to Grandma). I'd say 'off' is the one I'm not quite getting, I just like to jump up and let people know I'm excited :)

Busy Boy

Boy oh boy, I have been so busy (and Mom got tied up with a bunch of work stuff this week). I'm growing so much and changing almost everyday. Let's see what's been going on... I got over my fear of the Dyson yesterday (much relief to Mom and Grandma), I love going for rides now in the truck and the car and I'm learning the stairs (something about me getting too big to carry anymore). Here's some pictures of my latest escapades:

Another Week in the Life!!!

So much has happened in this last week, I just haven't found time to post. Here goes:

Last Sunday I got my new bed, I don't sleep in it often (I still like that tunnel behind my Mom). Here's a pic that Mom managed to snag one of the few times I did lay down in it (NOTE:Mom had to buy it because of the checkered flags):

It's been another great week. I went for some car rides and finally enjoyed them! And I may finally be getting used to my collar. Another adventurous day

Well, today was my first bath. I didn't do too bad once Mom decided to just hop on in. I was putting up a pretty good fight before that. Once she got in I decided it wasn't all that bad. Here's some pictures that Grandma took:

Once the washing part was over with it was time to get dried off, or in Mom's case it was time to get even wetter :)

Then came time for the blow dryer. Mom turned it into more of a game so it was pretty fun.

The finished product: I was even cuter and fluffier than before (Mom and Grandma didn't think that was possible).

Then once the wind calmed down a bit we went outside to play some more. I played in the tire again which made Mom happy, although she didn't have the camera to capture my initial romp in the tire.

Then I was having fun climbing on the lawn chair. Tip: four little legs and a slatted lawnchair don't really work so well. Mom was quick to help, and thankfully didn't take any embarassing pictures.

After this we took a quick ride in Grandma's car and I didn't whine or cry at all. Mom was so proud, now if she could only figure out how to help me see better in the truck I think we'd be set for some more road trips. When we got home I even had my first taste of ice cream: Mmmm!!! I licked the bowl clean and then some.

Another great weekend, and looking forward to more adventures this week.

REUNITED!!!

I had visitors today. One of my brothers, Paddington, and his Mom, Jackie, came over for a playdate. We immediately remembered each other and shared some greeting licks (and sniffs of course). Here's some pictures of our backyard adventure!

We had to do some introductions since we didn't have official names when we last saw each other.

We had so much fun and I was completely tuckered out by the time he and Jackie left. I slept a good bit this evening and now Mom is keeping me up late to watch the race. The rest of my busy week

Hey everyone! I've been at my new house for over a week now and I love it. My Mom and Grandma are spoiling me rotten. Here's some of my latest adventures!

One of my favorite activities, chasing and catching my tail (I've lived up to my name already)

Posing again, many people have told Mom and Grandma I look like the Cottonelle puppy (at least one has said I'm even cuter).

Sometimes I have some clumsy moments, they usually result in some spectacular somersaults!

And I've discovered that waterbowls can be fun. I was just washing off my paw :)

But I dumped it instead :)

So then it became a new toy to play with :)

And here I even found a way to do one of those somersaults with it (talented, I know).

One of Mom's co-workers gave her this frisbee that was just my size. Thanks Miss Ann!!!

And drawstrings are the best invention ever!!!

Mom had to work to get this shot of me. I wasn't too sure about the tire, but I'm sure I'll be playing with it before too long!!!

Mom finally realized I was too fast for her lens and switched to one of her race lens to capture some action shots. I'm really enjoying my new backyard and have just about discovered it all. It's a lot of ground to cover for a little guy like me.

Mom put my collar back on today, and I still don't like it. We played with the leash a bit today too!

And I found a new place to nap.

So as you can see this new puppy is having a ball. Keep checking back for new adventures.

A happy puppy

Mom and Grandma have learned that I'm a very investigative little guy. Quite fearless of most things, but I'm still getting used to some noises. I think I'm finally getting used to the dog barks that live around me, at first I have to admit I was a bit freaked out when I first heard them. Now I just put up with them. I was enjoying the yard the past couple afternoons and Mom was back at it with the camera, so here's some of my new finds.

I've had some more visitors. A couple of ladies from the subdivision stopped by to visit. I really played it up for them and they thought I was so sweet (and cute too).

I discovered the wheelbarrow (and the rain water it collected my to Mom's dislike, something about there being fresh water in the house).

I like trying to drag them around.

I like to pose and make Mom happy every once in a while :)

My favorite thing to do is help them pull weeds. Here Mom caught me rolling off the pile.

And again, napping. Mom keeps telling me I'm going to sleep my life away, but a growing boy needs his rest. I kept adjusting the towel so I had it just right.

Today's new toy was a frisbee. I liked pawing and scratching at it.

And I found I could use the frisbee as a diversion to help me eat more weeds and grass.

Me and my ball in the yard. I love to pounce it. Grandma wore me out with the ball and a water bottle this morning, before putting me in my crate. It made napping easy today.

Mom came home and worked part of the day from home, but I had did just fine. So we'll see how I do tomorrow. Another one of me and my frisbee, I really liked it and had fun playing with it.

Overall, I think I've adapted really well. I gave Mom some extra wake-up calls last night but they were all necessary. So maybe I'll be nice tonight.

My first raceday

Last night was pretty good. Here you can see my favorite place to sleep (I like to sleep close to my Mom). We napped like this several times yesterday evening and today.

I only woke her up twice last night to go out and we got up at like 7:00 this morning. BTW, bananas are really tasty (Mom and Grandma both shared with me this morning). After eating breakfast I had to decide where to start with all of these toys again.

I like my flexible Nylabone (and Mom and Grandma prefer I chew it instead of them).

My Dr. Seuss bear is a bit big but I still manage to play with it pretty well (I sleep with Yertle the Turtle at night).

I made Mom very happy when I finally played with my Dale Jr. car (I still don't like the collar).

Mom put the collar on and I just have to scratch at it. Or I just go take another nap so I don't have to be bothered with it.

Mom brought this comfy pillow over to sit on, and I took her seat when she left the room.

I had some more visitors today. A couple of the neighbor girls stopped by and then Mom had her co-workers who live in the neighborhood (Mandy and Scott) stop by. I played with them for a while and then got tuckered out and had to nap again. I also kept finding goodies in my crate today.

Another Busy Day

Before I start in on today's activities, I had a couple new pics from last night. Grandma wanted a picture of Mom and I, so Mom supervised the shot and look at the happy twosome (Grandma is very happy too).

Grandma was getting my belly:

We all turned in kind of late last night since I was busy napping. I only woke Mom up 3 times during the night, but I had to "go" everytime. We finally got up this morning and had a play session while my breakfast was getting ready for me.

I gobbled up all of breakfast and then took a nap. A puppy needs his naps you know!

I decided to make Mom's photo sessions more interesting today. She may need a new camera strap before too long :)

Another nap was needed. I got tired out scratching at my new Dale Jr. collar, I think it had fleas.

Look at all of the toys I have to choose from, it's no wonder I get wore out. I really like my ball and bear, and I use the hippo thing as more of a place to play than something to play with. And I like laying on shoes to play too, the shoes tend to hold my toy of choice inplace.

I like practicing my looks on Mom and Grandma so I know which ones work best.

Today we messed around most of the morning and then had a visit from the neighbors. I liked them, especially Hannah. She'll be fun to chase around as I get bigger. Then we waited until after I ate lunch, then went to go get Grandma's car (since she was holding me on the drive home yesterday). I'm still getting used to rides in the truck. I whine alot because I can't see what's going on outside (they need to make puppy booster seats). I went and met one of Mom's co-workers named J. Then we went to Kroger's and I must have met at least 10 more people in there (and in the parking lot). Add in the 8 or so from yesterday and the people I met at Beth's and I'm well on my way towards 100 people in my first 12 weeks. Mom was feeding me in my crate today, and then I even ended up playing with some toys in there too.

Well, this busy puppy is off to rest up for my next adventure. Check back later.

My trip home

Boy, it's been a busy day. 3 of my siblings left earlier today and then my new owners came and whisked me away. Beth had to spiff me up some before she could send me off:

It took me a bit to adapt to the ride home (after being made over by many people at the credit union, mom just had to stop and show me off). By the time we made it home, I was out for the count:

I'm trying to nap as much as possible so I can give mom and Grandma an entertaining first night with me. So if I keep them up too much I may post again, otherwise look for more tomorrow.

It's Official: Here I Am!!!!

Well, I had my vet visit yesterday (imagine 11 of us going to the vet all at once). First round of puppy shots (OUCH!) and I passed my checkup. Today was testing day, so Beth ,the best breeder ever, could pick out which one I was. Now I get all spiffed up tomorrow so I'm all handsome and ready to make my new owners melt when they come to pick me up on Friday. I have to be extra cute since I'm sure I'll keep them awake most of the weekend :)

So I bet you're all waiting to see me, huh???? Well here goes, try not to drool too much!!!

My first six weeks

I entered this big world on February 16th 2008 as one of eleven pups. I have 5 brothers and 5 sisters. I can't quite pick myself out in the pictures here, but I'm in there somewhere.
